Dr. Tom Liu grew up in Calgary and began his journey in veterinary medicine while completing his Bachelor of Science at Western University in London, Ontario. It was during this time—while working at a small animal hospital—that he discovered his passion for caring for animals, setting him on a path that would eventually take him across the globe. Dr. Liu pursued his veterinary degree at Massey University in New Zealand, where he not only honed his clinical skills but also began his professional career. After several years of practicing in New Zealand, the mountains called him home, and he returned to Calgary to reconnect with his roots and explore a new chapter of life and practice. Joining the team in 2025, Dr. Tom brings a special interest in diagnostic imaging, nutrition, and client education. He’s passionate about helping pet parents better understand their furry companions’ health and is committed to delivering thoughtful, thorough care. Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find Dr. Liu out on the hiking trails, playing sports, or spending quality time with his loved ones—including his beloved dog, Pipi.
