Dr. McCann has loved animals for as long as she can remember — in fact, her dream of becoming a veterinarian started when she was just six years old. Life took her on a few adventures first: after high school, she headed into the trades and spent several years working in northern Alberta, then hopped on planes overseas to support veterinarians in underserved African communities and even volunteer with a lion conservation project. But that childhood dream never stopped calling.
Back in her hometown of Prince George, BC, Dr. McCann began her pre-veterinary studies and soon found herself at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan. There, she discovered her passion for rehabilitative medicine while working with the rehabilitation team on summer research projects. After graduation, she returned home once again — this time as a veterinarian — and completed the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner Program through the University of Tennessee.
Today, Dr. McCann’s greatest joy is helping pets live their happiest, healthiest lives while building strong, lasting relationships with the people who love them most. She’s thrilled to be part of the West Springs Vet Hospital team and can’t wait to partner with Calgary pet parents to keep tails wagging and hearts full.
